The purpose of this position is to interact with various stakeholders (Clients, Project managers, Architects, Quantity surveyors, Construction managers, Procurement staff, Main contractors, sub-contractors and Suppliers) to conceptualise, design and coordinate the creation of functional and aesthetically pleasing indoor spaces that enhance the comfort of the occupants.

- Establish the client requirements and preferences, assess user needs and options,
- Establish the project brief including project objectives, priorities, consultants, assumptions, aspirations and strategies.
- Prepare and finalise the project concept in accordance with the brief including the scope, scale, character, form, function and viability of the project.
- Discussing design concept internally with relevant parties.
- Propose general construction materials and intended finishes.
- Preparing and submitting presentation of the design concept to the client for approval
- Attend design and consultant meetings
- Incorporate and coordinate the other consultants designs into building design
- Prepare design development drawings including draft technical details and outlining specifications.
- Liaising, co-operating and providing necessary information to the client, principal consultants and other consultants.
- Coordinate relevant 3rd parties prior to construction
- Prepare construction documentation and send to quantity surveyor
- Attending design and consultants’ meetings
- Overlay drawings with external parties to ensure all plans merge
- Collect samples and products for compliance and design intent.
- Attend relevant site inspections / meetings
- Coordinate relevant 3rd parties during construction
- Perform ongoing quality control checks
- Inspecting the works and issuing practical completion and defects list.
- Send confirmation to project manager once scope of work is completed
- Identify areas of innovation that may lead to increased productivity, automation, reduced costs, time and material wastages and increased profitability

Qualifications and Requirements
- Grade 12
- National Diploma: Interior Design
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Relevant Design Software (AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Revit, Sketch-up, Lumion, V-Ray)
